But probably not Cobb’s trips to the injury list. Chasing a dog is a good way to turn an ankle or hurt your back.

I’m very confident that barring serious injury Cobb will be much better than Ubaldo.   As it stands right now, Cobb has been worth 0.6 rWAR in his one year and one month as an Oriole, compared to Ubaldo’s 0.5 rWAR in 4 years with the team.    This latest injury has thrown him off kilter but I feel he’ll come around.

He should be better. I was looking at his career numbers in Baltimore, which is equal to about a season's worth at this point, and they are mediocre. Hopefully he can get turned around.

Both years, he had disruptions at the start of the season.   Last year, he signed late and started the season late and not properly prepared.    This year, he missed his first start with a minor injury and then another start or two with a different injury.    I’m hoping he’ll shake off the rust and start pitching to his capabilities soon, but we’ll see.
