Does felony stalking, threatening to kill his wife, etc., move Belle into the really bad category? He didn't just throw a baseball at a fan. That's not even remotely close to his low point(s). p.s. edited to remove spousal abuse: I don't think he was charged with this.

I found no mention of threatening to kill or harm his wife. Can you provide a link?

I see nothing that backs the claim of violence or threats by Albert against his wife, Melissa Belle. Melissa claimed in court that it was she who made the calls to the woman, not Albert.
I researched this before posting because I had found nothing suggesting any form of spousal abuse. Just three happy children who like to play with their dad.

Excuse me, they were threats to kill his ex-girlfriend and his wife claimed she made the calls.  It's complicated because the girlfriend may have been his regular paid escort. The story I linked was associated with the case where he placed a GPS tracking device on the girlfriends car. The linked story suggested that he tracked the girlfriend while he was on his honeymoon with his wife. It's very sordid and very hard to follow. But the victim did state that Belle threatened to kill her and it was part of his felony stalking case. I believe calls that are alluded to in that story came after the woman already had a restraining order against Belle, hence the felony nature of the stalking case.

I did not mean to misidentify the victim, but regardless if it was his wife, girlfriend, or call girl, Albert Belle is a reprehensible human being who was nasty to many, many people. That has been well documented and you can easily find examples in your research. I hated that he ever donned an Orioles uniform. Not trying to be snarky, but are you a personal fan of Albert Belle? Do you think he is a misunderstood, troubled soul and we are being too hard on him? By the way, Albert Belle's behavior on the field and in the locker room was enough to make me not want him to be an Oriole. The crazy and mean things he did away from the ballpark just cemented my dislike of him and my dismay that the Orioles signed him.

The word "felony" doesn't exponentially make worse the "non-threatening" phone calls that are the basis of the violation of the court order. Belle may not be a goody-2-shoes but he is not in the vile category that Clemens and Cobb occupy, as well as numerous other athletes e.g. Pistorius and so many wife-beaters over time that MLB could out-man the active military of The Bahamas.

You think there were no threats associated with the first court order? You totally believe that his wife made the calls and that there were no threats associated with the second set of calls? You don't think that sticking a GPS tracing device on a woman's car would be threatening or the type of thing that a guy that threatens women would do? You seem to believe allegations against Clemens, but not Belle. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't get how you seem willing to believe bad things about Clemens, but not about Belle. And again I'm not trying to say he worse than somebody else. Belle has done a lot of sucky things to a lot of people. Plain and simple.

Pedophiles and wife-beaters are really bad people. Clemens is a pedophile but he is not the only one. Belle's misdeeds fall far short of those heinous crimes. By comparison, his teammate, Scott Erickson, looks like a "really bad guy," compared to the mistrustful, intelligent and often times angry Belle.

Sad but true: threats mean nothing to the cops and the legal system. They can be considered harassment if one can document a continuing pattern, as Ms. Williams convinced the court. You might be as shocked as I was at learning the types of threats people can make towards each other and be considered entirely lawful.

    • HEY YANKEES! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnxNRPy_SOA
    • Yeah I'm all for sportsmanship but seeing 'Congratulations Yankees' at or near the top of the board is sickening, not gonna lie.  There is no high road when it comes to these clowns.  Boone's constant whining, the well-documented HP ump favoritism (I don't care if its framing or whatever, its happening, and its annoying AF), the whining about Judge getting hit on the hand while their guys constantly pitch inside including of course the Kjerstad play where they were literally cutting up on the bench as he lay prone on home plate, the ginormous payroll, the incredibly entitled fan base booing at pitches being called balls that are three inches off the plate, that stupid roll call, that stupid whistle after strikeouts, the stupid national media drooling over a Judge v Ohtani WS possibility, Nestor Cortes and his dumb mustache, the mediocre stadium that is revered simply because its called Yankee Stadium, the ridiculously short RF porch, the Soto Shuffle or whatever the hell it is. Congratulations my ass.  Screw those dudes.
    • Here's the deal. I doubt anyone on the Yankee's board congradulated us last year. This year they won the East. Whippie for them. It's like saying the IRS won tax season. IF, we do anything in the playoffs, we may meet again. But there are some significant hurdles before that. And they could easily lose along the way. Cleveland, Houston, Detroit, and KC are no walk in the park. I'll root for the O's to go as far as they can and that the Yankees are one and done. We are in. I hope we win one more so we play the opening round in Oriole Park. If not, we are still in and have to do what we got to do to go anywhere. Two years in a row. While the Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Tampa sleep. Year two with a heck of a lot more obstacles. This may not be a WS year but we are competitive, young, and a hell of a lot classier than that bunch in the Bronx.
    • The usage of Cano last night was poor, I don't even blame him really.  Yankees had 9-1-2 coming up, and Torres is well known (based on the telecast) to hit Cano well, and hit sinkers well.  He laced that hit to RF off him on Tuesday where the Yanks screwed up the baserunning.  And Soto got a hit off him that same inning.  So it was pretty predictable that these guys were going to tee off when he came in, and that's exactly what happened. Not to mention he's pitched a lot recently, and Burnes should have pitched another inning anyway.  Just baffling decisions by Hyde last night, and I'm not one to generally question those types of things.  Even if the Burnes thing was pre-ordained, the choice of Cano for that moment was terrible.
    • Why is this thread on the Oriole Talk section.    It probably does not belong on the OriolesHangout  at all but if it stays it should be on the MLB section.
    • If there's two outs and its not Judge in the hole, I'm probably going with Perez, crossing my fingers he gets the lefty, and then starting fresh the next inning with Coulombe or someone else.  If there's one out, I'm going w/ Coulombe.
