In any event, though, Hit Probability is not the same as Catch Probability.   HP is based on exit velocity and launch angle.    Catch probability is based on the distance to be covered by the fielder and hang time.

Riemold's range (while certainly not spectacular) wasn't nearly the problem his penchant for bungling routine and semi-routine plays was.

My point exactly.  We have had a number of abysmal left fielders over the years.  Trey, right now, is better than most all of them.

1) Go here.  Use the calendar to go to whatever date you are looking for and then select the game in question.

2) Yeah, I get that but I am not aware of any page that publishes CP% for individual plays.  It may be out there somewhere but I have yet to find it.  If you come across anything please let me know.

Mancini was -7.3 UZR/150 last year.    For comparison:

2016: Kim -17.4, Reimold -2.0

2015: Pearce -11.2, Snider -7.3

2014: Cruz 5.8, Lough 28.0

2013: McLouth 3.9

2012: McLouth -5.7

Fielding metrics can be even more confusing than offensive metrics.  This data would suggest to me that Nelson Cruz was a much better outfielder than Nate McClouth and Nolan Reimold and Trey.  My eyes didn’t see it that way.

I was being a bit lazy in only citing UZR from fangraphs and not also looking at Rdrs and Rtot on BB-ref. By Rdrs Cruz was in positive territory, by Rtot he was in negative territory.    Overall, he wasn’t as bad as I expected no matter what metric is used.

Mancini absolutely should've been charged with an error on the Correa HR.  He's doing his best to be passable out there but he's average at best.  

Sisco with a good throw to get a runner early in the game.  Looked like the ump may have called interference so the runner would've been out anyway, but still, nice to see a good throw.  I didn't get to see the play later in the game on the SB by Marisnick

He definitely should have; it's amazing, as a defender you essentially have to throw a ball in the dugout or in the crowd for it to be called a error these days. This is the major leagues, not single a.

Except when your CF'er is less than a fringe CF'er. Jones is the worst CF'er in the majors
