Flash forward to today's boxscore.  It's not Flaherty's .435 batting average that's making me do a double-take.  And it's only the 6th inning.  No spoilers from me - ya gotta look.

Does Flaherty have a perfect game going?

He had walked his first 3 times up yesterday - twice intentionally - see what batting 8th in the NL can do for a batter.  It backfired once when Brandon McCarthy hit a 2 run double.  Flash had a to total of 94 walks in his 6 seasons with the O's.  He made outs in his last 2 plate appearances, but is still off to a great start getting to play regularly due to Atl's starting 3Bman, Johan Comargo, being out with an injury.  Will he hit .400 for the entire season?  Possibly not.

Picturing the Braves lineup if they make a trade for Manny:

Ender Inciarte (GG CFer leading the league in steals)

Ozzie Albies (leading the NL in homers, doubles, slugging, hits)

Freddie Freeman (usuallly carried their offense since he's been in the majors)

Ronald Acuna (rookie phenom)

Manny Machado

Nick Markakis (OPS around .950)

Dansby Swanson (24 year old star of the future)

Kurt Suzuki (having his 2nd straight great hitting season, sharing catching with Tyler Flowers coming off his career year)

Pitcher

Braves will probably also be in the market for a closer, hmm.

The Braves are starting to look like the 2018 Team of Destiny.    Today they rallied from a 9-4 deficit in the 9th, winning 10-9 and improving to 28-17.    The final six batters reached base with two outs in the 9th.

8 years to the day since the Braves scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat the Reds by s score of 10-9, they plated 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat the Marlins by that same score (10-9.)
