Did this all start with Duquette meeting with Peter Angelos' sons? I seem to remember reading somewhere that Dan sat down with John right before all this happened? Perhaps they decided they wanted Dan to stick around longer, but he only agreed to do so by doing it "his" way? Did they just tell him to shed payroll with no long term plan? Do they have a wink wink agreement on a long term contract but haven't announced it and won't till the end of the season? Are they both "feeling" each other out? Dan may have wanted to leave and John is asking him to give the boys a chance? Maybe they told Dan he had this trade deadline to show his stuff and then they would decide if he is the man for the rebuild? ALOT must have gone down during that meeting.
