Weird, it says he's in the 2020 HS class in Florida.  How is he eligible to be an IFA signing and not subject to the Amateur draft?

It has been known for American players to use dual citizenship or family relations so they can be eligible as an international free agent rather than be made available in the draft.

Ah ok, very interesting

If you are 16 and want to play baseball would you rather strike your own deal or wait until you were 18 and be restrained by draft slots?

The fact that players do this should be an indication that owners know an international draft will enrich them instead of players.

I would much rather negotiate my own deal and have control over my fate, for sure.

And yea, drafts never benefit players more than owners do they?

I don't understand why any fan would be in favor of an International draft, unless they just think owners need to be richer.

Yet some are.
