Broxton's .710 Career OPS would be 6th on this team.

His Career .306 OBP is better than the player he replaced (Rickard .299)

His defense is better than any one currently patrolling the Outfield.

Looking at his career arc I'm not sure using his career numbers is the best way to predict future production.

I wasn't suggesting that he was viewed as a long term option.

But Rickard was supposed to be a guest bartender at the only Guisness brewery in the US.What happens now? Broxton as bartender? Wilkerson who does everything? Dwight Smith Jr. who you probably dont want him stirring any drinks.Might fly up in the air and hurt someone.Davis would just stare at the drinks as they go by.Maybe Hess or Strally? They are good at getting things hit out  of the park.

Was not predicting.  He has only started 10 games this year the remaining was to pinch run, pinch hit or defense replacement.(39 games total)

I don't doubt that Broxton can cover some ground out there. Let's see whether he can make a throw from CF to the plate that is more or less on a line and reaches the catcher on fewer than four hops.

Hyde. He probably is a beer aficionado after the way this season has gone.

He did hit 20 homers one year.  Maybe they feel that there's something they can do with his swing.

Anything can happen.  Chances are he continues the way of his career, but someone down in the thread alluded to Dwight Smith, and there's other comps for finding a career late.  Adding guys with plus power to OPACY never hurts.

Let's be honest. Broxton is an Oriole because he was cheap. He is obviously not a part of the youth movement. I wish the guy all the best but, the move is worrisome.

We didn't have a natural CF and his production offensively is at least on par with Rickard.  Not sure why it's worrisome, especially on a last place team.

He’s young enough where you can hope to turn him around.
