In his defense, it was a bullet and was fielded immediately. If it was in the gap, he likely would have scored.

He only does one thing which has less value than it used to (see discussion in another thread about Benny Ayala).   But he does it well.   Earl Weaver would have had him on the team for 5 or 6 years and gotten a lot out of him.   It's a different era, when you have a 3 man bench.   But he can hit, especially against lefties.

Yeah I didn't see enough on the replay to know if he went full out all the way or not.  Hope he did.

All I know is when I saw it get over the LFs head I thought we'd have a run.
