You’re right , I stand corrected . But according to MLBTR , the three year deal total comes to $ 68.25 . However there is a vesting clause which states in event he pitched 180 innings in third year , his fourth year worth $ 25 million will take effect . That would bring total of $ 93 million, which is 7 million less than my $ 100 estimate -
Yup...if you look at his numbers away from Seattle (as I mentioned above), he's far less attractive. -

Obviously there are evaluators internally who can detect whether or not there's something to unlock here, but I'm really not sure I want Castillo all that much. He's alright. -
When you start firing people, things will start to get out. It's just human nature. No one likes to be "moved on" from. I'm not saying that he should or shouldn't have moved on from people, but you can not have Kremlin-like organization if you plan to fire people. When people leave and are not happy about it, some will talk when asked. Not everyone will, but some will. Some people will realize that there are only so many baseball jobs and if you bad mouth your former employer, your new potential employer may not be wanting to be on the receiving side one day too. Over the years, I've talked to many coaches, scouts, front office people and players, and some like to talk, and others do not. But I will say, the guys who were let go tend to be the ones who open up about the inner workings of things. Now, do you have to take some of that with a grain of salt because it could be tainted due to being angry, sure, but some guys do like to "stick it" to the org or person that fired them and again, that's human nature for some.
