We would have more room to evaluate corner outfield/DH guys if Mancini was playing 1B/DH. Not sure if Mountcastle would be in the majors already, but we have a bit of a jam when everyone is healthy between Smith, DJ, and Santander, all of whom deserve MLB AB's. Possibly Sisco's future if he has one could be at DH/1B. Hays is waiting.

It also impairs the pitchers by having Mancini in the OF.

I think it is getting close. Just no sense in keeping him, embarrassing himself and the team. There has to be a number they can agree on that saves the O's a few million and Davis further humiliation.
