Woah.

Game 81 (O's win 13-0)

  •  The O's won 13-0: It doesn't get any more silver lining than that. Well... it turns out it does, but that will have to wait.
  • ?John Means: The triumphant return of Orioles All-Star John Means was, well, triumphant. For 5 innings anyway. 0 ER, only 2 baserunners allowed, 5 Ks, and the W. He also hit 95 mph.
  • Branden Kline: 2 huge scoreless innings in relief, which is a sight for sore eyes from anyone in the 'pen, but especially for Kline, who I like.
  • Fry & Castro: Pitched the remaining 2 innings of this shutout, and it was nice of them to not make it interesting or put a bummer stain on the whole thing. Nice job.
  • ?Chance Sisco: Alright, enough about the pitching, let's unpack all this juicy offense. Chance went HAM in this one, y'all. He absolutely murdered a 98 mph fastball for a 2-run homer onto Eutaw Street for the plaque. He also had an 2-RBI ground rule double and and RBI single for a 5-spot in the RBI column. Uh, yeah that works. Have a unicorn, bud. Oh yeah - and the subtle bat drop on the homer was very choice.
  • ?Anthony Santander: Man, when he gets into one it's a good time. He cranked one out into RF, a 2-run shot. Before that he had a 2-run double. He'd add a single for the 3-4, 4 RBI night (plus a walk) that is somehow not the best offensive line of the night.
  • Rio Ruiz: You know it's a good night when Rio had a 3-hit night with an RBI. Just sayin'.
  • Hanser Alberto: I've been saying he's slowly been adding XBH to his game lately, and he continued tonight with a 2-run double. He's got 5 XBH in his last 4 games (and will get another in the next entry). His current OPS is .741 as his slugging has now entered the .400 territory. Keep it up!
  • Jonathan Villar: Walked twice, scored 3 runs, notched a hit, and stole his 16th base. That's a fun fantasy line.
  • Mini ?s: Hit and a RBI sac fly for Smith, a hit for Davis and Wilkerson.

Game 82 (O's win.... 13-0??)

  • The O's won 13-0: It DOES get more silver lining than that, and here it is. I can't be the only one to double-take when checking the results. Like... really? Again? And at home, too. Beautiful.
  • ?Andrew Cashner: He did Means one better by going 7 IP and only allowing 3 hits with 6 Ks. He's now 8-3, which is a good time even if it's meaningless.
  • Tanner Scott: Good Tanner graced us with his presence in this one, although he has since been optioned. 2 scoreless, 0 walks, 4 Ks.
  • Anthony Santander: He was at it again as he cranked a solo homer into the RF seats on a 2-5 night overall. Tony!
  • ?Renato Nunez: Deposited two offspeed junk pitches into the stands for two, 2-run shots and 4 RBI on the night. Walked twice as well, as Renato looks to shake off a slump. He's notched a cool 18 dongs before the calendar even flipped to July. What to do with Nunie? I dunno, but I do enjoy taters and he hits 'em.
  • Chance Sisco: Are you kidding me right now? Another two-run shot that he walloped. Is there a prettier swing on the team? No there is not.
  • Hanser Alberto: The XBHs are coming folks! An RBI double in this one plus a single and at the end of this one he was batting .320 with a .750 OPS. The more XBHs he has, the less of a statistical weirdo he is, and while he's not there yet, he's on his way.
  • Keon Broxton: A hit, a walk, 2 runs scored, and a nice diving grab in CF. A solid night for Keon.
  • ?Trey Mancini: Three hits, 3 RBI, including a double. Because of all the fireworks in this one, it looks relatively pedestrian, but that's a huge night.
  • Jonathan Villar: Not to be forgotten is Villar's 2-run double and... another 3 walks for 5 in the last 2 games? Love that.

Game 83 (O's lose 2-0)

  • Gabriel Ynoa: Alas, the offensive juggernaut that is the 2019 Orioles did not last, but Ynoa did his part. He went 5 and a third giving up just the 1 ER. He needed that outing, as his ERA falls from 6.75 to 6.22.
  • Paul Fry: Since coming back up after a quick demotion, he's been good again. He adds another scoreless inning with 2 Ks.
  • Richard Bleier: Tosses a scoreless inning and a third. He's maybe getting there? He stated the month with a 9.22 ERA and ends it with a 6.46. Silver linings!
  • Rio Ruiz: The offensive fireworks after scoring 26 runs in two games is, well, a Ruiz double. Look that's just the way it is.
