I guess it was pitch count, and matchup. :noidea:

He was at 64 pitches and Trout was 1-2 off him; single and strikeout. Oh well.. decision ended up backfiring and now we're down 4-2.

COULD have caught it. He's not a CFer.

Indeed. Santander might have got it. Wilkerson got turned around, but at least Santander is an outfielder. Missing Broxton at times like this as you eluded to.

Well... NOT missing Broxton per se. Missing a true CFer who can actually hit a little.

He was handy as a defensive replacement. If he could have caught that, he could have struck out his next AB and all would have been well. lol

Calhoun's ball was not that tough a ball to catch -- if you run back on a route that takes you to the ball, see where the wall is, and then run under it. Wilkerson's bad route and failure to track the ball and the wall made it a tough catch.

That's the kind of thing that's going to happen eventually when you play an infielder in center field.

I have to give BIG credit to the Orioles/MASN PR video department. They have to come up with these upbeat lead-in commercials with mostly Orioles' highlights in dismal game after dismal game.

I thought my job was bad...
