OH 16th inning honor roll

I'm in LA and I stroll into work at 11am, so the late night doesn't really affect me very much.

Normally I would have gone to one of these games but I can't stomach the idea of paying actual money to watch a 30% win% baseball team.

I bailed after we didn't score in the top of the 12th.   I was fading fast, and at the very worst I needed to be up by 7:30.

I figured either:

-- we lose in the bottom of the 12th and I wouldn't mind missing that

or

-- I'd have to stay up another inning and a half to see us win

and I just didn't think I could make another inning and a half.

I bailed on that Seattle game too.   I'm a loser.

The 20-year-old me would probably be disappointed, but the 48-year-old me is well on his way to sleep by the first pitch of a West Coast weeknight game.  Huzzah to the folks who can go to work on 2-3 hours sleep, that ain't me.

40 year old me was hitting the sack around 4-5 every night, and sleeping 2-3 hours.  53 year old me, and 11:30 is late for a work night.

Is the amount of sleep you need to fully function a parabola with respect to age?  I feel like elderly people naturally get like 4.5 hours of sleep a night, but people in their 40s complain that they can’t stay up late like they used to.
