I called that one before he even saw ball 1.

Awful at-bat by Ramon. He swung at a 3-0 pitch that would've been ball 4 and grounded into a DP that a runner with even average speed could've beaten out. Blech.

Jay Payton has been about as good of a 4th OF'er as we could have hoped for this year, especially when taken into consideration his prior string of bad attitudes. I haven't heard anything negative about his demeanor this year, and he has produced when we've asked him to.

I've been ready to give Ramon the benefit of the doubt up until about now. I have defended him all year. And just when you think he's coming around he does something like hit in to a double play on a 3-0 pitch. Now I can't imagine praising or defending him again (unless he gets the game-winning hit, of course).
