Terps v Syracuse: 9/7/19

Today's game is an important one for a number of reasons.

  • With our schedule, it may be tough to get to 6 wins, but getting there may mean we need to win today.
  • Beating Howard meant very little, but beating the 21st-ranked Orange? That would be an excellent way to really start the season.
  • Recruiting wise, getting wins against ranked opponents matters. The sooner this program under Lox can win against strong opponents, the better the recruiting will get. I've said this before, but this Maryland program has a chance to be very special. We're a top recruiting area that needs to keep that talent in house... and if Lox can win early, it could snowball in a B1G way.

OMG are we actually finally good now?

Long way to go, but good start.

Syracuse just put together an 11-play drive that put the Terps on their heels a bit.

They did complete a long pass with a great throw and catch that kept the drive alive.

Let's see how the offense responds.

Right down the field again.

What I really like about Jackson is that he doesn't compound the issue after making some bad throws. He missed two wide open guys in their third drive, but came back, and had a nice draw play, then made tow more nice throws to get them down to the five where Leake took it in for the TD.

Offense looks unstoppable lmao.

Yes Tony, having an actual QB is so refreshing!

Jackson is the best QB I've seen at Maryland in a long, long time. Hell, maybe back to the Esiason days. He has so many weapons to us and two legitimate starting running backs in McFarland and Leak.

Locksley has done so good in recruiting transfers who are all over the place and producing right away.
