Eddie Murray, Dwight Smith, and Rio Ruiz are at an event at Westminster on the 9th from 2-3PM, then at an event at Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick that starts at 4PM.

Cutting it a bit close, I would guess that's about a 45 minute drive and they have an hour to make it.   Hope they don't hit traffic or bad weather.

I wonder who will drive?   I assume if the Hall of Famer wants to drive, no one will deny him the privelege.

This goes beyond Baltimore which I think is extremely smart. Builds in community service. Player appearances. Happy hour thing sounds fun. What's not to like?

I’d still probably prefer Fanfest, but this shows that the marketing team wasn’t just mailing it in this winter; rather, they’re trying something new (for this team, anyway).    I might consider going to the Frederick events.

I plan to go to the one at Flying Dog Sunday afternoon.   I've enjoyed their beer for years but have never visited their brewery in Frederick, so it's about time I did that anyway..   And Eddie will be there!   Not to mention GrayRod and Mountcastle, and Sig.

That's just two days before pitchers and catchers report.

The one Saturday morning in Ellicott City as actually by far the closest to me.   Might make that one too.

Yeah, I would go to that one if my wife wasn't 8 and a half months pregnant.

Kinda irritating they don't have one in Baltimore though. We have breweries too! One of the breweries even makes a beer honoring Eddie Murray!

So a 1 hour event in Westminster in the cold at the McDaniel football stadium? What am I missing? I love the Orioles but it doesn’t sound very enticing.

Go to the earlier event on Carroll Creek. A short walk down the creek takes you to Idiom (my favorite), Smoketown and Attaboy breweries, and McClintok distillery.
