And the very next inning, Urias turned an easy force play into a 1st-and-3rd with nobody out situation. 

Not only did he not get the force out at 2nd base, but he then threw the ball in the dist to the first baseman to allow the lead runner to take an additional base.

Kind of a harsh critique for a 1.14 WHIP

But the Red Sox still failed to score ...... Cobb struck a batter out, and then the defense turned their 4th double play of the night to end the inning.

Not including the runner who was caught stealing, 90% of the Outs that Alex Cobb recorded (18 out of 20) came via the Groundout and the Strikeout. )

Severino made a beautiful throw to 3B to catch Vázquez trying to steal 3B to end a second inning threat by the Red Sox.   That’s the second time this week he’s made a great throw to 3B, having picked a runner off 3B in a previous game.

Rtot: +15 (6th in MLB)

Rdrs: -3 (19th in MLB) 

UZR: -5.4 (21st in MLB)

Fangraphs defense: -4.4 (21st in MLB) 

Fielding %: .980 (27th in MLB)

Overall, a bit better than last year but below average unless you want to believe Rtot.

Overall, the Oriole defense was very frustrating for me to watch this season.

I was very happy with the team's performance on the field and their general direction overall, but the defense made me squirm a little too much.

I think the defense looked better than last years, still it wasn't great though.

I hope Iglesias is healthy next year, that should help.
