Orioles Trade Hector Velazquez to Astros

I mean, the fact that we will turn Hector Velazquez, a 31-year old waiver claim, into ANY other player, is pretty great. Even if that new player is bad, which he probably will be.

Another Velazquez perhaps.  That said, no qualms from me even if we just got a bag of peanuts.

I was just thinking about Velazquez a few minutes ago and what was going to be his fate with the O's. Should have taken that as a sign there was news on him.

This guy couldn't break the opening day roster when it was at 30. He's 31. My only surprise is that anyone wanted him.

When we acquired him in February we had to bump someone off the 40 man roster, so the question is whether John Doe who we got for him is better than whoever that was.

The 40-man roster crunch this offseason is going to be something, considering a whole new class of guys has to be added or be Rule 5 eligible without any competition this year to judge them on.
