I found this quote interesting.

“MASN will continue, as we have for the last 15 years, to broadcast more than 300 baseball games and 600 30-minute pre- and post-game shows,” said John McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Marketing and General Sales Manager of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.

I guess that could mean two 15 minute shows but that's not how it reads to me...?

Truthfully, how long does it say - "Welp, another L!".

Would be nice if MASN would get on Sling, which is the cheapest of the various options. I have Sling  pretty much exclusively to watch Maryland basketball. The Giants and Athletics games are available on Sling in-market.

Here is a list of all team's RSN streaming platform options - https://www.groundedreason.com/how-to-watch-mlb-games-without-cable/

That option would of course be second to just letting us pay them directly. This is all very dumb, hopefully it gets sorted out soon, but it should have happened 5+ years ago.

I am sorry.

The whole streaming or cable/satellite conversation just goes around in circles to me. Channels are still bundled.

I pay over $150 for DirecTV.  Upgraded internet to a broadband provider and that is $75 a month. Watch Amazon Prime, MLBTV but that is it.  I would probably have to spend another $75 for the best internet to have confidence in it where I live. The upstairs TV can be real choppy trying to stream.

You sound like me.... Hate the price tag for both, but no other viable options

I cut the cord a few years ago when the team went into re-building mode. I use the MLB app for instant video highlights and Orioles game updates and that keeps me in the loop without the time investment or the cable bill. I can get the Ravens on over-the-air antenna so that keeps my sports entertainment costs way down.

I love a good MASN pile on but outside of Gary Thorne I can't bring myself to get mad at any of the recent decisions. The streaming ordeal is not any different than the vast majority of other teams' options. Most of them require a cable subscription and aren't offered on Youtube TV, Hulu Tv and Sling. This also isn't really much different than Fox sports go, BTN, ESPN etc. where you still have to pay for a subscription package of some sort. As far as i know, none of these sports streaming services act as a Netflix/HBO model where you just pay a monthly fee for that content and that content alone. I pay for Hulu Tv to be able to watch live sports on all of those apps mentioned above. Even if you purchase ESPN + as a standalone service you don't get access to games not exclusively aired on ESPN+. Meaning you still require a subscription package to watch, say, the NCAA playoff games.

I do wonder if this is out of the Orioles hands in terms of what they are able to offer their fans regarding streaming. Doesn't change the fact that they were still late to offer mobile streaming at all and their programming was badly produced and very boring compared to other networks. Others may disagree, but i'd rather watch paint dry than watch Dave Johnson and Tom Davis on Wall to Wall Baseball. They have an opportunity with this app to have a more modern fan experience and it seems like they are sort of touting that. The devil is in the details though so we'll see.

Has anyone seen any updates about when the MASN app will be available? Or what streaming services will be carrying MASN this season?

I can’t find any updates outside of the Jan 25, 2021 press release.

Nope, not a thing! Looks like they are going to miss their target of opening day. Unless they release it at 2:10pm tomorrow which strikes me as something they would do.

AT&T TV is the only streaming service to carry them, and likely will be the only one at least this year.   Same boat for most of the other MLB RSNs this year.  It's on their $85 no-contract streaming package.   https://www.att.com/tv/

Go through Rakuten and get $112.50 back on your first month. Money maker.

    • Still with a chance to do this for the first time since 1982-83. Would be one more nice accomplishment for this organization.
    • The weird thing about our bullpen is that they rarely blow leads.   They have a 69% save rate, 4th highest in baseball.  They make it scary, but generally, when they have the lead, they get the job done.   Where they are really bad is keeping games close when we’re down a run or two, last night being a classic example of that.   This year’s team has 32 comeback wins, compared to 48 last year.   Why is that?   Part of it is obviously on the offense, but part of it is that the bullpen doesn’t keep us in striking distance when we’re behind.   One way you can tell this is by the W/L records of the starters and the bullpen.  Last year, the starters were 57-40, this year they’re 60-49.   The starter got the decision 12 more times this year than last year, including 9 more losses (with 3 games to play).   That tells you that when the team is losing when the starter is pulled, they keep losing.  Meanwhile, the relievers were 44-21 last year, 28-22 now. They’re not picking up wins because they don’t give the offense a chance to catch up and get the win for the bullpen guy.
    • I do not disagree with above posts.  Also I am pretty sure that this time last season, the Texas Rangers Hangout was saying the exact same things as the Rangers Pen.  Point being, you never know until you know.  The pen is shaky, but is capable of putting together a solid run from time to time.
    • Roster Resource thinks it has tonight's lineup and Kjerstad on bench again. He is 7 AB shy of 130 MLB regular season AB with 3 games left, and if he ends up short some prospect list makers may still label him one.    If still with the Orioles, he will be 26 years old by Sarasota. I think the OP has its answer as it has been Cole and Lopez these two nights and the team is preparing for that intensity.
    • I care I bet the over on 88 wins, looked like a lock now not so much, come on O’s, daddy needs some new shoes
    • I’d have brought up Young immediately after DFAing Kimbrel. Baker has no place on this club this year. Would have been nice to see Young up here.
    • Yeah, but they could've brought him up a month ago and seen what they might have...And Im not "pining" for Brandon Young, just wondering if he's any better than some we have in the pen..
