Red Sox Show Up Late

Spoonless

Wow. I don't know if that was more the Red Sox showing up, or Tampa blowing up. It's a good thing for the Rays that they're headed back home after tonight. If they had to play the next games in Boston, I don't doubt that the Sox would find a way to carry momentum from this win over. As it stands, they certainly made the series interesting.

Who cares about interesting

The Red Sox need to be knocked out

If the Red Sox win game 6, I think they will take the series in the end, unfortunately.

I still think the Rays win.

Shields in game 6 and Garza in game 7 if needed. The offense is too high powered and their pen will not blow another game like this.

Plus, Beckett has been stuggling and Papelbon just threw around 40 pitches, even though there is an off day, thats a lot.

And they have to go to Tampa for games 6 & 7, that place will be jumping.

But does the way they lost last night crush that team?

How does a young team respond after that?

Are Balfour and Wheeler going to be confident?

I will tell you this...Tampa better win game 6.

This is exactly what people thought when Boston creapt to .5 of a game with TB in September. Then the Rays won the next two in Fenway.

The Rays bullpen absolutely choked last night. I don't think it matters in the end though. I see TB winning Game 6 going away. They are, IMO, clearly the better team and I think they know it.

If the day off yesterday rattled the TB guys a bit (which I think it did judging from last night's game and results), then today's off day should get them back on track and refocus them. Hopefully they use that to play hard, come out fighting, and win game six tomorrow. :)

Before they "showed up" did anyone notice how quiet it was at Fenway?

Aside from the few Rays fans cheering, you could almost hear a pin drop.

I turned up the volume on my system and you could almost hear individual Rays fans cheering.
