I hate they make him wait a week between starts, but I guess if he can two starts in next week it works out just as well, plus I see why they would want him to pitch at home.

With Monday offdays cemented, chances to pitch every 5th day are thin for everybody.   Hall did once, but some weeks like this one Bowie just won't do Tuesday-Sunday at all.    Pretty much with every pitcher prospect this year I'm just curious to see if they can make it to 20 GS/100 IP, and how much if any some of them will be allowed to work past those round numbers.    Certainly in Rodriguez the Orioles perhaps have one of the planet's best pitchers who happened to be in his Age-20 season when covid blipped one out, so more at stake for us than some other orgs how we puzzle it out.

BA guessed 11th behind 10 hitters this past week, but I feel like these next couple months he can start leapfrogging even those guys every start or two if he keeps dealing 80, 90-some pitches that let you keep the biggest Jose Fernandez/Stephen Strasburg-ish candles lit.

Akron's a better AA team that maybe ought to punch him in the mouth a little if the AA jump is all its cracked up to be (I don't think the first 2 appearances against Hartford/Binghamton were by accident).

I understand off days every Monday make it tricky, but I would think guys like Hall and Rodriguez should be given priority to work on a regular schedule, even though they would have to get an extra day if their turn falls on Monday.

Trying to manage innings this year.

I'd like to see the top prospects go every fifth day and let them pitch a little more. I hate to see them come out after 4 2/3, even though I'm the only one who cares if they win. It seems like they ought to be up to 90-100 pitches by now.

It’s at least a legit cover. Probably some truth to it as well.

I'm sure.  I wouldn't run him or Hall into the ground but I haven't seen any evidence that they need to handled this carefully.  I'd like for them to be able to throw without restrictions in the majors in 2023.  I'm not sure Elias is building to that.

Lots of hype and probably the most pressure packed start of his young career tonight.

Be interesting to see how he handles it.

Can’t wait. I’ll be in section 101 about 8 rows back. Hopefully I don’t jinx GRod like I did Hall.
