The A's are offensive

The Oakland A's come to Baltimore for a weekend series.   They have won 11 in a row.   They have scored 6 or more runs in 8 of those 11 games.   Including 13 runs in a win against the Twins on Wednesday.   1B Matt Olson (1560),  LF Seth Brown (1460 OPS) and DH Mitch Moreland (1178 OPS)  over the last 7 days have been on fire.  The A's have 7 players that have over an 800 OPS in the last 7 days.  Lefthanded hitting Brown may sit vs John Means on Saturday.

Cole Irvin (4.60 ERA) starts on Friday and  Chris Bassett (4.43 ERA) starts on Saturday.  Neither look like they will shut out the O's.   But they probably will not need to.   Sunday's starter for the A's is listed as TBD.  The O's will counter with Lopez, Means and Harvey.

A hot hitting team in Camden Yards is a scary thing but its baseball so we don't know the outcome.  That is why they play the games.

After yesterday's desultory getaway day, Savant this morning shows us having leapfrogged the Rockies into 30th at xwOBA.

Hoping for Jahmai and Yusniel in a month even if we have to wait half the year for Adley.   I'm fine with them producing horrible xwOBA outcomes while pitchers show them MLB stuff - our current placeholders...not so much.     All of the April Mountcastle stuff this calendar year, please.

The problem with Jones is that his defense at second base has shown to be less than optimum, and for every play that is called an error, there are several that could’ve been, and others that are just sloppy play. If he hits really well that would be OK, but I watched the Toronto game last night, and the Blue Jays defense is apalling. How can a team that had Kevin Pillar in center, And Donaldson anchoring third, watch this?

I want stellar Defense.

The greatest thing about the 2014 Orioles was their splendid defense.

It’s kind of hard to hope for a ground ball pitcher, with the colander defense behind them, But wishing for a fly ball Pitcher has its own unique negatives as well.

This will work for you.  You want a line drive pitcher.  One who gives up shots that bang off of colanders until they are replaced by younger pieces.

The A's; have won 11 straight.  So, Im just gonna call it now.  Sweep.

No way.   I don't see us winning ALL 3 games.   2 at best.

Jones just moved to second base before he came here. THIS is why we get him reps NOW, when we suck. You want and expect perfection right now! You just can't have it yet. We have to put up with ALL these guy's growing pains. Including Elias'.
