Another mention of his arm bothering him.  I know it’s not new news but still...seems Like it’s increasingly likely he has to have surgery.

Its annoying that they have put it off for several months if that is the end result.

It’s amazing how often that seems to happen.   Going on nine months here.

From Roch:

The organization has received positive news regarding pitching prospect Mike Baumann.

Baumann threw three innings yesterday in a simulated game in Sarasota, Fla. and didn’t experience nay discomfort in his right arm.

The Orioles are going to ease Baumann into the Triple-A rotation by pitching him at some of the lower affiliates. He’s expected to join Single-A Delmarva this weekend in Fredericksburg, Va.

Elias' booth comments in the 3rd inning this afternoon (3rd inning seems to be happening like clockwork Sunday home games) were hopeful.    He described Baumann standing out from the AAA group in general by virtue of right handedness and power repertoire.

Obviously he needs to come through his 50/65/80 steps up, but for a barely healthy pitcher it was odd to hear the GM talk about him as an MLB contributor.    Elias reiterated his usual point about historically unusual year, every pitcher on 40-man roster, etc.    But he didn't give the impression AAA mastery Akin-style would be a Baumann requirement.

His stuff and Kramer’s gives them the leg up on all the other guys IMO.  The other triple A guys have to have A command to be successful major league starters while Dean and Baumann need to just B level command.
