No bags or outside food or drinks is comical.

What exactly does that have to do with anything other than the organization trying to make more money through concessions.

That’s all it is.  It’s nothing else.

And telling people they have to wear a mask, in an outdoor venue in the summer, is just stupidity at its finest.

We don’t even have to wear them indoors anymore but yet you are asking they wear them outside when it’s 90+ degrees out?

Yeah, I can't imagine it is going to enforced. Heck, I can go into a Starbucks in PA without a mask now. They have signs that say optional.

Just make sure you have a beer in your hand at all times!   Then you don’t need to wear a mask.

There will be plenty of opportunities to change that rule, and I’ll bet they eventually do, especially if the Covid numbers keep dropping as they are now and the vaccination rate keeps climbing.

I’ve been keeping a chart of weekly new Covid cases in Maryland since the last week of March 2020.    This week is on track to be the lowest number of new cases since I started tracking, and it’s been dropping precipitously the last few weeks (7229/5732/4136/2879, on pace for about 1750 this week so far).   Maryland is doing a very good job with vaccinations too, with 54% having received at least one shot, about 7% higher than the national average and still growing at a decent clip.   Overall, the facts on the ground are getting a lot better.    If that continues, the rules will continue to change too, IMO.

I think the mayor said the city is lifting mask mandates when 65% of the city population receives at least 1 vaccine shot.  Once that happens I would suspect OPACY will follow.

Or you could just look at the data that clearly shows that people under 45 have never been at a risk higher than a normal flu season, and yet we have punished the young and healthy for going on 18 months. <8,000 deaths out of more than 200 million citizens under the age of 45. That is not a pandemic

And what does a city vaccination rate have to do with a stadium crowd that is 80% from outside the city?

Realistically, that could take a while, as the city lags the state by quite a bit.   Right now Baltimore is at 41% compared to 54% for the state.   I’d bet the city doesn’t reach 65% until at least mid-August, if it ever gets there at all. I’ll be surprised if the mask mandate lasts until then if cases keep dropping.

Actually not quite 100% seating.   They are keeping the CF bleachers (Secs 90-98) as socially distanced pod seating for those that want it.

That's a great idea, accommodate fans who still want social distancing in a way that doesn't affect those who no longer need it.

The people that are still wanting to remain socially distanced, I'd think they would;

1. Get the vaccine.

2. If that isn't enough, probably sit this season out until they feel more comfortable being around people because they are going to eventually get within 6ft of someone accidentally.

3. Why did you get the vaccine then?

That's your judgement, which is fine.   But instead of judging those fans, who are a subset of their customer base, the Orioles chose to accommodate them in a way that doesn't significantly affect the rest of us in any way.    That's why I applaud the move.
