Were the Orioles the very first team to play contemporary music back in 1975

Watching other games from that era on YouTube I don't hear any.

I think it's cool hearing the current music at the time between innings and pitching changes during the 79 World Series, while the Pirates were playing boring organ music.

They never played sister sledge at Pirate stadium.

It was just organ music

I still remember Howard Cosell saying Sister Sledge, and the cameras panning to the Pirates wives in the stadium.  But that was 1979, wasn't it?

They play it now at PNC.   7th inning stretch.   I had to sit through it twice a couple of weekends ago.   I did not stand, and maintained a stoic demeanor while thinking of pleasant things.

But they played 7th inning stretch music starting in the mid/late 70's - with "Country Boy".

We didn't win a title in 75.

The Pirates last title is forever tied to a 1979 hit.

I mean, that's depressing really to hear it every game and remind you just how long ago you were truly relevant
