Indeed. And if they don't sign Burnes with that money it should be earmarked for other areas of the team to make it stronger. I'm telling you Elias seems like a guy who tries to only do just enough and nothing more. Like personally I feel if they lose Burnes then you need to get 2 SPs. Don't sell me on that other garbage like Rogers etc being part of the rotation those other guys need to come in and compete and possibly be relief pitchers who could spot start or stash in triple A for an injury fill in. So if you lose out on Burbes go and grab 2 pitchers. Maybe trade for Castillo and sign Buehler and make the rotation deep. Also add another hitter and BP piece. They can afford this. -

Even if Castillo wants to come here and SEA willing trade him to us , I don’t see Elias approving it because 4 years term with total $ 100 million is too overwhelming for him -

If Elias don't want spend, then why didn't Elias trade for a starting pitcher when there were 30 GM's in 1 room at the winter meetings?
