Free Agent Prediction Thread

Recommended Posts

Predict the 2009 destination of exactly 10 free agents from the following list. Provide a point value for each player from 1-10 points. You get 10 points if you get your 10-pointer correct, and so on. Any interest? Is it a better idea with the point system, or just predict ten be done with it?

Additional Rules:

  • You can't predict the team that they finished with in 2008. If you think the player will be with the same team, pick another player for your list of ten.
  • You can't predict 'retirement'. If you think the player will retire, pick another player for your list of ten.
  • You can't predict a player once he is reported to be signing. If reliable reports are out that a player is signing, pick another player for your list of ten. Once one player on your list is reported to be signing, don't make anymore updates to your post.

EDIT: Tank, you beat me to the 'Dunn to the Nationals' idea. I think they'll overbid for the major sluggers until someone takes it, and Dunn will be the one who takes it.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that there is some sort of rule against one guy (Sabathia) signing with two different teams at the same time.
