Well I spoke to my guy alittle bit ago and I will talk to him again several more times this week. Ill have the latest for everyone as things come about. Remember as BB an others state, read into it what you will.

First..Mark Teixera to Boston for prospects is being talked about right now. And its heating up.

Bedard being traded is laughable he said. Dont expect him to go anywhere.

I have a spicy Bedard story from this past offseason that I will share later tonight. Which Im getting more details on. You'll like it.

Cabrera and Tejada being traded is being talked about. He said "of

course" when I asked if they are being rumored.

I will have more later tonight.

If Theo is trading any prospects you can bet they are going to get an extension with him. Theo is not afraid of Boras by any means. Manny's contract will be up in a few years and they will have the money. If Teixeira goes to Boston that's the end of any thoughts of him in an Orioles uniform until he's in his late 30's. Do you really see Theo giving up top prospects for a rental?

We can't let Boston get Tex. That would be the final straw for me...

You think Boston would have learned by now. Them trading their young prospects hasn't exactly been good. Didn't kill them, but I bet they wish they had Hanley Ramirez right about now.

First of all, just because Boston has money, doesn't mean they will sign Tex. Being afraid or not of Boras has nothing to do with it...HIS CLIENTS DON'T SIGN EXTENSIONS!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, they want AROD and they will probably get him.

They can't afford Ortiz, ManRam, AROD and Tex.

I will be suprised if they even make this move to be honest and to be honest, if they do, i think it is a good thing for the Orioles...Just like if NY traded for him.

They signed Beckett to an extension so what makes you think they won't try to sign Tex? Even if they don't extend him they can re-sign him. They have the resources to do it. We'd better have one hell of a Plan B because Tex isn't going to want to come to a losing franchise once he gets a taste of winning...

It's going to make me absolutely sick if the reason we lost Teixeira to the Red Sox was because we couldn't give up Daniel freaking Cabrera.... :mad:

I never said they won't try and sign Tex but Tex likely won't sign and even if he does, that means Boston has spent over 20 million plus given up 2-3 prospects...That is good for the Orioles.

You need to stop with this....Tex is not the only first baseman in baseball.

      Yes well let’s see if we can win a game , one game first.  Because we ain’t winning no division without winning more games.  And baseball  history will then sadly record  “the historic collapse of the Orioles in 2023” as we join many other ill fated teams over the years.

      I included both in my write-up.  Nathan Ruiz and Rich Dubroff listed McGouth and Peek.  These rosters are fluid due to injuries, etc.

      I think everyone just needs to face facts that without Bautista this is a completely different team. It didn’t come through at first because the team was still able to win but since Boston broke their 6 game win streak on 9/10, the Os are 5-8 and have 2 3 (or more) game losing streaks, which doubled the amount of 3 game losing streaks they had all season. The bullpen roles have become an issue and everyone being shifted around because of that injury is becoming an issue. Combine that with starting pitching that isn’t that good after our top 2 guys and you have a really bad scenario. This team built themselves up early on because of how great the Cano-Bautista duo were. Eventually the offense started to catch up but Bautista, who imo is still the MVO, getting hurt changed the entire dynamic of this team. Cano is tough to trust in high leverage situations because he simply doesn’t miss enough bats and doesn’t get any Ks any more. I said at the end of August that I felt they would lose their first playoff series because of the pitching and Bautista’s injury.    The only thing that gives me some hope is that GRod isn’t really slowing down and I expected that to happen. But overall, I still feel they will be 1 and done. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think we have many, if any, legitimately trustworthy BP arms in the biggest situations in the playoffs and I don’t think we will get more than 6 innings out of any starter and even 6 full innings may be unlikely. We are going to need the pen to get 12-15, at least, per game and I don’t like their chances of doing that while holding a lead. The Bautista injury just changed everything. If he comes back, maybe that changes but obviously it depends when he comes back and how he looks. I still think they do enough to win the division and they will get the much needed days off to help set things up but these pitchers will still be what they are and what they are isn’t likely to be good enough.

      I trust none of our BP pitchers in ANY inning right now without a 5 run or more lead.
