I understand what you're saying. I just believe that the team that went 49-25 didn't exist after a certain date. You're referencing a team that was totally transformed by the IL.
F the Yankees. We took the season series against them. Let them get cold waiting around, while we get some much needed confidence of winning a playoff series.
Confidence would be a scary drug for this team.
Are we sure it’s Kremer over Suarez?
I also think it might be a moot point. Burnes and Eflin are horses. For all the crap we’ve overcame this year, I think we sweep 2-0.
It was a long/bumpy road here. But this is exactly where we wanted to be. Burnes going game 1. Our big hired gun deadline buy going game 2. Homegrown offense with everyone in the pen sans Bautista.
This is who we are folks. Now it’s just time to handle business.
Take a look at Tampa last year. They were 48-20 at one point, suffered a similar number of setbacks and injuries, but still managed to go 51-43 the rest of the season. And if we’d done something comparable, I wouldn’t be complaining now.
Take a look at my Injuries Happen - 2023 thread. We had a tough year with injuries in 2024, but it wasn’t anything unprecedented. And you know what? If Holliday and Mayo had played half-decently, maybe we’re not seeing the likes of Rivera and Soto on a regular basis.
I think we take 2/3 from Minnesota. We’ve been a different team the last week. Gotta shake off a tough game where we didn’t score anyways against Cole and Co.
What numbers? We scored one run dawg? Or do you mean season long numbers? Those are useless. Look at our offensive ranking post the Yankees series where we scored 15.
Season long rankings mean diddly poo. You can’t take those into the batter’s box. Now don’t get me wrong, the bullpen isn’t as good as last year, but the offense is our Achilles heal.
