Today is the deadline to exchange arbitration numbers

I assume later today we’ll hear whether Mancini, Means and Scott have reached agreement on a 2022 salary or have exchanged arbitration numbers with the team.

Are they really that far apart from Means and Mancini on salary that the O's would rather go to arbitration. Are the Angelos brothers not bending on this?

I expected this too and people wonder why fans have their doubts money will be spent on payroll when the team is ready to win. It's days like this and Jordan Lyles being the big off-season free agent pickup.

If I was the cost cutting sort I wouldn't want to pay Mancini 8M with Mountcastle on the team.

Can the Orioles still non-tender Mancini? They could always try a trade, but I imagine the return won't be very good.

They've tendered him an offer so no.

I think that if he wins they can still cut him during ST for savings.  But the optics of that might be enough to even dissuade the O's.

Remember when they tendered Britton an offer like 6 seconds before his leg exploded?  Good times.

Haven't the O's pretty much always been a file-and-trial team? Especially under the old man? Thought they had a pretty darn good record as well IIRC

A penny saved is a penny earned.  So 400k is a big deal.  I mean the O's are not flying their broadcasters to road games.  Maybe our coaches can coach from Baltimore for road games.  Players would just look at a video screen for signs.  New name for stadium-Ollie's Park of Bargains.
