Opening Day Lineup Bingo

[Aristotelian]

Probably an hour or two until lineups are released. Anyone want to make a guess? Facing Shane McLanahan LHP.  I've got:

1 Mullins CF

2 Urias 2B

3 Mountcastle 1B

4 Santander RF

5 Mancini DH

6 Chirinos C

7 Hays LF

8 Gutierrez 3B

9 Mateo SS

Thankfully we are playing against a southpaw and that probably puts Odor on the bench. I like your lineup better than what I think it will actually be, though I agree with the names.  I could see Owings getting a start instead of Mateo (if he is still a bit banged up) or Gutierrez. 

I'll guess:

2. 1B- Mountcastle

3. RF- Santander

4. DH- Mancini

5. LF- Hays

6. 2B- Urias

7. C- Chirinos

8. 3B- Gutierrez

I would personally prefer your lineup as I like Urias higher in the order given his OBP. It's more of the old school #2 hitter. I would ultimately like to see Mountcastle in the 4 or 5 hole later in the year when Adley is in the mix. I think he fits better there, but they put him at 2 last year and seemed to like him there. I like Mateo at 9 to provide some back-to-back speed with Mullins, but no dice there.

Interesting to see Hays in RF and Santander in LF.  Any idea why they have been switched around? Is it something to do with that stadium?

Just before the first pitch I told my wife that if it was a ball, the O’s would have a great season.  Then Mullins got whacked on the arm.  I turned to her and said “World Series!”   I guess we’re going 161-1.

Happy with our pitching. I bet there will be very few games where we only allow two runs. Sucks that we didn't win. I'm going to today's game. Hope we can get a W.
