I have a soft spot for Means — he looked decent at times coming back from surgery. I was up in Washington state when he tossed his no-hitter in 2021. It would have to be a minor league contract, for me, until we figure out if he can get healthy again. I don’t know if Means will be able to do better than that while doing his rehab. -

I think I’d be interested in slightly overpaying for a scherzer (one year deal), signing means once he gauges his options, AND signing or trading for Sean manaea or better. Wasn’t advocating doing these moves at the expense of acquiring an ace. And makes sense that Verlander or Scherzer may have the ability to be choosy and not opt for Baltimore. -

I will take a 5 Grayson Rodriguez /Zach Eflin types. I will not stand for a bunch of Kyle Gibson/ Dean Kremer/ Suarez/ Rogers types -
So the goal of Elias is to make the playoffs and come up short? It’s obvious Elias’ goal is to make the window of contention as long as possible. Just because the national baseball media and others don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s some ego fueled plot.
