Figure we change the subject . Spoke to someone knowledgeable about lease negotiations and thinks if all the negotiations go well that Orioles could sign a new lease by the end of the year. A few sticking points are the usual rent and concessions.The bigger things now are Sportsbook revenue distribution.  Restaurants in and around the stadium revenue distribution. One of the big ones is seating capacity. It will be lowered. How much is  an ongoing discussion. Also can they do it over several offseasons. Don't want to be doing it during the season but might have to. Also would have to do major concourse construction to redesign that and be able to see the field from the area. Put in restaurants, etc.

 

John Angelos, chairman and CEO of the Orioles, hailed the public investment on Monday in a lengthy statement released by the team, calling it the “second-largest public commitment of funding to a Major League Baseball public-private sports partnership, second only to the 2009 construction of the new Yankee Stadium.”
