Urias would have caught it

Last night  in the 1st inning Cleveland's Owen Miller hit a ball off 3B Tyler Nevin's glove for a two run double.   I think if Urias was playing 3B he would have caught that ball and saved the two runs.   Zimmerman would have gone 5.2 IP with 3 runs allowed.  Just sayin'.

Even by Elias Orioles standards I don't see how they can't do better than Nevin.  What is he supposed to bring to the team?

I was at the game, with seats looking pretty much directly down the 3B line.  I definitely thought Nevin should have caught that ball.  The only reason I’m not sure if Urias would have caught it is that Nevin is four inches taller.   There’s no doubt in my mind that Gutierrez (who’s 2 inches shorter than Nevin) would have caught it.  Manny?   Don’t even go there. Overall, Nevin is just not very athletic.

Urias is quicker with better range than Nevin.  It looks to me that like Nevin toes had not even left the ground when the ball hit his glove.   Urias could had made up the 4 inches with his jump.

Nevin is a 1B that doesn't have the power of a MLB 1B.   Hyde is trying to make him more valuable by playing him at 3B and the corner OF spots.   Its not working.

Gunnar is 6'2".   He would have had it also.

Yea but he may have also thrown it in the dirt to the first baseman.

The Orioles don’t have a real third baseman because they didn’t care enough about this to get one.

Nevin was playing because they didn’t want to call him up and sit for 3 days.
