Possible makeup dates if this doesn't get played, from (in my opinion) most likely to least likely:

  1. Thursday July 21:  This is the last day of the All Star break, but there are already 6 games scheduled that day (lockout makeup games, I assume) so it's not like every team gets the 4 day break anyway.   The Cubs open the 22nd after the ASB just up the road, @Philly, while we open the 22nd after the ASB at home vs the Yankees.
  2. Thursday, August 18:   We will have returned from Toronto after a day game the day before to start a homestand the next day vs Boston.   The Cubs will have had a day game the day before, and the next day they return home for a day game at Wrigley.   So we could play an afternoon game that day.  (I missed this one initially, thanks to @Upper Deck John for pointing it out).
  3. Monday, July 11:  Both teams are off.   The next day the Orioles are in Wrigley to play the Cubs anyway, so we could play a "home game" on this date and bat last at Wrigley.   The Orioles have a noon game the day before at home vs the Angels, while the Cubs have an afternoon game at Dodger Stadium the day before.
  4. Thursday, September 15:  We will have just played two games at Washington, and the next day we are in Toronto.  The Cubs will have just completed a series at the Mets, and will be home the next day vs Colorado.

There are no other mutual open dates the rest of the way.
