Our Cincinnati cousins with one page of sadness at the headline, and about 20 pages of giddiness in the first ~12 hours as the return became known.

Somebody there did the Baseball Trade Values checks, and has it 63-41 for CIN.    I guess that means in this one instance in real life an Ace pitcher might command a ~50% premium if your first playoff berth in forever looks like an odds-on bet.

Some of the posters excited about trading Mahle now, and mentioned system Bats-wise is infield rich and outfield poor.

In its basic overall structure, these are the big elements I think Elias will face in 12 months.    SEA won this negotiation by meeting Ask well in advance of deadline, which I'd guess Elias will be more hesitant than Dipoto to do.

Someone observed Castillo first Mariners turn could fall when they visit Yankee Stadium next week.    Gotta figure OAK increasing their Montas asks today.     The Yankees and other Castillo bidders now have a view of the top of the market.

I can't see Elias making this type of trade this season. Maybe next year after we have a much better reading on our prospects on the verge and fewer veterans left to trade.
