Well that a late 3rd early 4th type selection. It has value but very little compared to a trade that brings 2-3 players from a decent system that includes 1 headliner. I mentioned Bowden’s deal and I’ve guessed a systems 6-10 and a second in the 15-20 range.

If we're still within 2 or 3 games of a wildcard spot at the deadline, I am totally fine with holding onto Trey and making a go of it with what we have (and maybe even a reasonable addition or two), but extending Trey past this season simply does not make a ton of sense no matter how much we love and admire the guy. He is really just a 1B at the end of the day and we have another solid pure 1B in Mountcastle, who is both younger and cheaper, and plenty of guys on the cusp of graduating to the big league club who will need ABs next year and could cycle through the DH spot. 

And if we scuffle over the next 2 weeks and are pretty much out of it, then he needs to be traded for the best available return.

Hopefully a rested Mancini comes out on fire and we decide to keep him. I’m too old(38),I don’t want to see a Surhorff type press conference.

Pulling for Trey to break this mini-slump.

In the category of baseball comes at you fast, the Thursday day game at the end of the homestand is Mo Gaba day and the last home game before the Trade Deadline.

He's got Cortes, McClanahan and the usual parade of Rays relievers to have some moments against if indeed this is it.

Elias down to a view of just 9 more game outcomes before the deadline forces strategic decisions.

Ironic that Mo Gaba Day and Mancini's last game at Camden Yards could be happening on the same day.

I love Mancini, he's been my favorite player for a while now.  Great story, etc.  All that said, if you can get any real value out of him, trade him.

At some point you have to think he will get moved down in the order. Maybe that will take some of the pressure off. I also hope we can end the RF experiment.. he's subpar out there and is liability. I've seen enough.

What do you realistically think you can get for Mancini?  This recent skimp isn't helping the Os case for a strong return.  He plays a position that traditionally brings some power (1B, DH), but he had 9 home runs to date and one season over 25 HRs. By all accounts, he is a great teammate and we know how much effort he puts into his game.   But, what is his real value in a trade?

Vogelbach yielded a solid rookie reliever in Holderman from the Mets. I would imagine Trey is a bit more valuable than that given he's a better defender at 1B and pretend to play the OF. Vogelbach has the better OPS+, but it's close and I think most would view Mancini as the better overall hitter though Vogelbach brings a bit more power. 

I wonder what you could get for Mancini plus Lopez?

7/25 deadline is today and appears International Draft is close to dead, which would bring back the QO. QO is a longshot but I still say he would decline and the comp pick might be more valuable than anything we can get right now. At least the possibility could be used as leverage in any negotiation with a trade partner.
