Remember, regarding the draft budget and signing slots allow a team to exceed their overall slot budget by, I think 5%.  The O’s have about $800K to,play with before losing future picks.  Even if Holiday demands his full slot amount, the O’s have some flexibility.

Theoretically they do (4.9%).

Have they gone over before?

Is that something Elias is authorized to do?

My guess would be $7.650mm

I’m expecting over 7.5M although I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s lower.  That said, I would be mildly surprised if it was as low as 7.5M but I think the savings will be good.

Broken record.  You know they haven't gone over before.

Very happy with this pick.  He was both the guy I wanted the O's to pick and the guy I thought they would pick.  The only other time I can remember being able to say that was Adley.   Well, maybe Ben McDonald, too, but my memory on that is a bit hazy.  LOL.   I'm impressed by everything I've seen and read about Holliday.  5-tool player.

Sure, which raises the question on if that is a valid option.

Honestly we haven't had that many drafts under these rules, maybe they would be allowed to this draft?

We certainly shouldn't assume it's an option.

I am not complaining about the pick. I am very happy and believe Jackson Holiday will be a solid ball player.
But I believe the best player in this draft will end up being Temarr Johnson.
