Rochester Red Wings losing streak

I will always will have a soft spot for Rochester and the Red Wings, our long time AAA affiliate that produced many future Orioles stars in its heyday and were managed for a long time by Joe Altobelli, who managed the O’s to their last WS title.  Sorry to see their fans suffering.   But better them than Tides fans right now!

I remember the days of the Ottawa Lynx.  The guys at Bowie would come back after being sent down and complain a LOT about how it was to be there.  Of course, a lot of that was talking about the AAAA guys always complaining about not being MLers.

(And they talked to us a lot more back then; can't seem to get anywhere close to them now.)

I've always thought it was a curious balance the AAA managers would have to maintain, with guys on the rise meeting up with those having "failed," on the way down and out.

It's a really nice and unique minor league stadium if you ever are up there and get to check it out. I really enjoy the games when I get up there (wife is from Rochester originally). It's amazing how many of the old timers up there are still Orioles fans after watching Ripken and Murray and the likes play in their city.
