Well, it helps when the 1B is playing way behind first base and you can get a 25 foot lead.  He's got good speed "for a catcher".

I'm a believer.  I love the patient approach.  I'd like to see a few more hits and homeruns.   I'm always greedy.

I'm pretty confident that the home runs will come. The exit velo is clearly there.

Also Bench was in the majors at 19 and was a regular by 20.

I did. But the second part made me think you thought I was being serious. My bad. The stats I referenced are real, but I was definitely teasing with the comparison.

I did want to defend Bench a bit.

That was part of it.  Not everyone knows exactly how young he was when he debuted.

By his age 24 season, Bench already had 154 homers and a 129 OPS+.  Two MVPs and a Rookie of the Year.  Adley has some catching up to do.

His OPS+ is at 126 so he's almost there with that part!

Adley just started late to give Bench a chance.  Adley is already leading in the hug department.  lol

Also, after his age 24 season Johnny Bench had surgery on his lung to remove a benign lesion.  It was a fungal infection.

He said after he never felt the same way that he did in his first few years.
