DL Hall to be optioned to AAA and turned into a reliever for the rest of season?

This is exactly what he needs.   He can work in the bullpen with the pitching coach between appearances and see if he can translate that into games.   He had that good stretch in July when the walks were down.  It's probably a minor correction assuming he's 100% physically.

If they can fix Felix Bautista's control issues from the minors to the majors, there's hope for DL...

F. Bautista walk rates:
2.7 BB9 in 2022, majors
5.8 Minors 2021, three levels
5.1 Minors, seven seasons

But maybe it will have to wait till spring training to follow that model.

PS As far as age is concerned, Bautista is 27 this year; Hall is 23.

I was thinking more like Daniel Cabrera

We have much better pitching coaches now.

There’s more to it than that.  Daniel Cabrera was a terrible athlete.  Hall is extremely athletic.  It’s reasonable to expect an excellent athlete to learn to make his delivery more consistent, which leads to better command.  There’s zero doubt in my mind that Hall is going to be a far more effective pitcher than Daniel Cabrera.  But he has work to do.

True, and I was thinking more along the lines of pure stuff. Cabrera was practically unhittable... when he threw strikes. Unfortunately he gave up 4-5 walks per game. Really hoping that Hall learns to control and command pitches consistently. He'll be an ace.

And hopefully Hall isn’t taking Cabrera’s “vitamins.”
