17 of our next 22 at home; 20 of our final 32 at home.  I don’t think it’s out of the question that we could get to 88 wins which “should” get us a wildcard spot.  My thinking:

Oakland - win 2/3

Toronto - win 3/4

Boston - win 2/3

@ Washington - win 2/2

@ Toronto - win 1/3

Detroit - win 2/3

Houston - win 2/4

@ Boston - win 2/4

@ NY - win 1/3

Toronto - win 2/3

remainder - 19-13

Overall - 88-74

Thoughts?

So far, we’re keeping pace!  😁

We might need to watch out for the White Sox again.   Tony LaRussa is out indefinitely while looking into a health issue, and they have gone 3-1 since he left.   With that albatross no longer around their necks, they could get hot and get back into the wild card race.

Boston is a big concern to me.  Not worried about them snatching a wild card spot, but they are going to be a very tough opponent down the stretch.  Their lineup is just loaded and it is almost as if they have just now realized that they should be much better than their record.  Thankfully they play Tampa 6 times, NY 6 times, and Toronto 3 times so they aren't just going to be a problem for us.  But our 7 games against them could be a real challenge for us.

We lose the doubleheader tomorrow, the race is effectively over.  Making up 4.5 games having only 8 remaining games with the Blue Jays would be extremely difficult.

Absolutely need at least a split w  the Blue Jays tomorrow and in the series with them.  Tomorrow the Jays throw Manoah and Gausman.  The O's have done surprisingly good against both I believe.

God, I hope Hyde's lineups are bearable tomorrow

I don’t get the usage of Adley this past series with the doubleheader tomorrow. Catcher’s won-loss record isn’t a stat that is always reliable, but the Orioles are a better team when Adley catches.

So why did Adley only start one game against A’s instead of two as catcher. We know Adley is only catching one game tomorrow the Blue Jays and there’s an off day this Thursday.

Maybe Adley is banged up, but outside of normal rest he should be playing catcher as often as possible. The team plays worse when Chirinos is catching even if Adley is in the lineup as a DH.

I understand not wanting to wear out Adley, but it’s the last month of the season.

It's Gausman and Berrios, my bad.  Berrios has been the weak link in their rotation for the Jays.  Much better matchup.

Kevin will hopefully be overthinking it today which he has had a tendency towards..a loud Camden Yards hopefully will bring back personal past traumas lol

These are HUGE games no doubt. But there are 25 games remaining after this series. Every game going forward is equally important. If we were to take 3 out 4 or even get the 4 game sweep, it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme. Gotta play well in those last 25 or it won't matter. Take it day by day... gonna be a fun month of baseball!
