Now I know why those good players left

Watching the 1st half of the MD-Buffalo game, now I know why good players were jumping ship despite all of the "hype" around Locksley's Terps.

17-7 against Buffalo at halftime? Can't make one yard on two players on 3rd and 1 on the 40 yard line.

Dumb penalties, bad O-line and Tag looks terrible with his decision making and throws.

Going to be a long year if this half is any indication.

The good players left because of NIL.

MD is behind the curve on it and they'll pretty quickly become a lower division D1 program if they don't correct it soon.  Locksley himself saw the writing on the wall which is why he was looking for NFL jobs over the summer.

All of that said - I still think this is a pretty good MD team.  Buffalo isn't a terrible program, they ended up running away with that one and then dominating Charlotte as they should.  Big game against SMU this week.
