So if you use Perez here going to pitch him in game 2 as well?  Guys throwing in both games ?

Man, I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand here. Perez comes in, does his thing like he’s done for most of the year and you’ve got a shot in the 9th to at least tie it.  And I would argue we had the momentum a little bit.

Instead you get Hall who was an unmitigated disaster. The guys just not ready yet. But hey, we’ve got our “good” bullpen arms stashed for the second game because we’re betting the house on red.

Honestly, he is playing for a split here.  He is holding Perez for game 2.  He knows Lyles is only good for about 6 innings especially since he has been sick.  A sweep would be devastating.  Keep the good arms to hopefully win the nightcap

Lyles puking in the toilet is all the more reason to try and win a game you're trailing by one with their closer unavailable. Tate and Bautista can get four or five outs each. Akin is available. I didn't have a problem letting Hall start the 9th, but you have to have someone warming and pull him once you see him throwing it to the backstop.

Exactly. Everyone screams that they want them up here and then complain when kids struggle lol. I haven't been around much in a year or so but absolutely nothing has changed. Over-reaction Hangout survives!

So you haven't been around but show up and call this the over reaction Hangout in a game thread?

You know what? Why don't you see yourself back out???

Wonderful. So you have 2 good pen arms available in Game 2.

What about Henderson, Aguilar, and Hays in the ninth made you so hopeful?

Hall has 137 strikeouts in 84 innings. I get that he didn't come up here light the world on fire, but he has special stuff. I can only imagine how furious the majority of you who couldn't wait to get rid of Arrieta and then he became Cy Young would complain about the O's front office if they got rid of Hall.

The O's are early, they are doing so much better than anyone would have imagined but they aren't winning a world series. I'd much rather the young kids learn how to play in a playoff race this year then when they are actually in a position to compete talent wise.

I probably would have thrown Sulser, but there is nothing about the offense today that would make him think that we are likely to win.  As I said, a sweep would be devastating.  What happens if you are up 1 in game 2 and have to pitch Hall because you are out of guys?

You do not pitch Hall in a one run game. He has not shown he's that guy in his short career. I have zero issues with Hall being on this roster in September despite pitching pretty crappy of late in AAA, but I have serious issues with him being any kind of close game.

I think I'll stick around unless my money is no longer good here. You can decide, but your gestapo tactics do not intimidate me.
