I don't think it's a matter of dimensions.  It a matter of platoon advantage.  The platoon advantage is real and universal.  Aside from Gunnar Henderson, the rest of our infielders (including our advanced prospects) and our current left fielder all hit right handed.  It makes sense to have a left-handed hitter who can play good defense in the infield and at LF on the roster.   

If Frazier is used as a fill-in at 2B, SS, 1B and LF against right-handed pitching then he will help the team, especially if his bat can bounce back a little.  If Frazier is used more like Odor as the regular 2B, while Ortiz or Westburg rot at AAA, then he will not help the team.  

I do agree that $8M is too much to pay for a glorified Ryan Flaherty.

You know, it's kinda admirable.

His vision is so focused that he can completely ignore the 2022 season.  He's going into this season apparently unconcerned with being competitive.

I know he said lift off but this looks like it's just another year to slowly build up and see what you have in the young players while you round out the roster with detritus.

I’m pretty sure I started the thread after the trade was announced. I remember seeing several pages of replies on the subject. Just saying.

Hopefully the A's can sign a few more players and the Orioles stay stagnant. With the Trevor May signing their projected payroll is $45 mm. and the Orioles $52 mm

F would be Chris Davis, a seriously bad long term contract that does lasting damage to the organization. Sometimes nothing is better than something, so I can't go lower than a D.

It's a D for me. I don't hate the signings as much as some but they are just fancy Lyles and fancy Odor.

I anticipate two more moves: Wacha and a backup catcher.
