Teams better not let the Orioles…

Face their weakest bullpen arms. So far the Orioles have done a good job beating up on the weak relief pitchers. I love it. In past, I would get so frustrated when it seemed like most of the lineup would let the weak bullpen arms escape. It was like the Oriole hitters would press/rush and end up having poor at bats and doing something dumb like pop up the first pitch. I hope the lineup continues to feast on the weakest links. I want to see the opponents bullpen in shambles after the Orioles finish a series with them.

Leading all of the MLB in OBP (.357) and their 78 walks in 16 games is behind only the Mets and Dodgers. OPS+ second only to the Rays, who clearly benefitted from playing 13 of their 16 games vs. very weak teams.

It is a very Twilight Zone vibe to look at this sorted chart after 10% of the season.    WIthout looking it up I'm guessing the best Buck teams maybe flirted with middle of the pack OBP.

https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2023&month=0&season1=2023&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&startdate=2023-01-01&enddate=2023-12-31&sort=13,d

The team has an OBP-driven 807 OPS, and the Rays aren't going to outslug the other 29 Clubs by 100 points as the pitching they face starts inching towards league average.

I wonder if we can slug .550 against Nationals and Tigers pitching....we'll see this next week.
