A few random MLB notes while we wait for the game to begin:

• Tigers just swept a doubleheader from the Guardians in Detroit.   The doubleheader started at 1:10 and was over by 6:10!   And you usually have what, 25 minutes between games?   Talk about new rules impacting time of game, wow.   EdRod pitched a gem in the 1-0 win in the 2nd game.   Ex Virginia Tech outfielder Kerry Carpenter walked the first one off.  With the doubleheader loss, the Guardians fall out of a tie with the Orioles for the 3rd wild card spot, we are now in it alone.
• Reds lock up 100 MPH throwing young starter Hunter Greene for 2 years beyond his original free agency date with a 6 year, $53 million extension.   Everyon's doing it these days, except the O's.
• I imagine you all heard about the Mets' broadcast team having to do the series in Oakland from an auxiliary broadcast booth because the smell of opossum feces was overwhelmingly strong in the normal visiting team broadcast booth.   One of the nasty little critters apparently has made that booth his home since the winter.
• A's are going to call up Mason Miller, the 3rd overall pick in the 2021 draft, to start tomorrow vs the Cubs.
