How about Mike Elias? During the off-season, did he have an inflated view of the rotation? Did he try to upgrade it and couldn't get anything done? Did ownership thwart his efforts because payroll would increase? Or did he just decide this was the group he wanted to started the season with?

Just keep in mind that the Atlanta ace Strider just went 5IP against the Orioles, and that's what he does in most starts. If you're expecting someone to come in here and routinely give you 7-8ip, your expectations are probably unrealistic
