Yes I certainly did and he was great! But this guy here maybe the game’s best pitcher. Mike Mussina was NEVER considered that.

Mussina led the league in rWAR in 2001 and put up a 8.2 rWAR in 1992.  Do you think Eck was actually a better pitcher than he was in '92?

You could make an argument that he was the best pitcher in the league in '92, in both leagues honestly.

When McClannahan gets to the HOF we can have that conversation.

Obviously he is not as accomplished as Mussina because his career is in the earlier phase and it can always be derailed. But when did Mussina EVER have the stuff this dude has. I never ever remember Mussina throwing a pitch beyond 95MPH. This guy hits 97, 98, 99. PLUS he’s LH.

I’m not taking ANYTHING away from Mussina who was one of my favorite Orioles ever. But as much as I bleed Orange and Black, I gotta be honest.

You do know they keep changing how they record pitch velocities right?  You think prime Clemens only threw 95?

Hard to compare across eras.  But McClanahan finished 6th in the Cy Young voting last year.  Mussina finished 6th or higher in the voting 9 times.

No I didn’t know that. I thought guys threw with more gas nowadays. At least it looks faster on TV and in person…lol

I meant the Mountain’s 101 looks faster than anything I remember even Randy Johnson throwing, which I believe he had more velo than Clemens.
