Not true. HD is 720 or 1080 resolution. Apple broadcasts at 4K resolution.

First off 720 or 1080 does mesh with me saying more than one resolution qualifies as HD.

Secondly you can record at 8K and broadcast at 4K.  There can be some advantages to doing it that way.
